It was wildcard week! Big thanks to those who came with a topic for us to muse on together. Super engaging and thought provoking conversation.
A few of my takeaways…
- Well defined processes are important, but they never solve all the issues. Having a mindset towards open communication and collaboration is paramount.
- When the pool of people we communicate with is too narrow (or shallow, as the case may be) we miss out on valuable opportunities to engage diverse perspectives.
- Investing in relationship building pays off in spades, but especially when mistakes are made. Strong relationships create space for grace.
- When kindness and compassion feel in short supply – getting curious about people’s motivations and influences goes further than telling people to “do better”. Taking time to get specific about the behaviors we want to cultivate creates clarity and can help navigate cultural differences.
