Week 4 – Wildcard on Creativity and Critique
It was wildcard week and we had a great conversation about creativity, group problem solving, conceptual ideas, and more.
Here are some highlights from the session:
- Mark shared his experience using two key questions to frame any meeting/working session – What are we hoping to accomplish by the end of this meeting? How will we know if we’re successful?
- Chris added that how people ARE in a space/conversation impacts the success of the two key questions. Being curious, authentic, open, and engaged matters.
- Dan brought up the lack of practiced critique in many professions. Designers get skilled at giving and receiving feedback early in their professional education, but most industries don’t build this muscle which inhibits people’s ability to innovate and iterate.
- We collectively mused on what makes someone good at conceptual ideas. So many gems in this discussion
