Week 3 – Wildcard
It was wildcard week and we had a strong showing in the Friday live. We laughed, we commiserated, we shared some book recommendations… a good time was had and we’re so grateful for this community of fine humans being professionals. 😊
A smattering of what we chatted about:…
- Dan shared a challenge he’s been thinking about related to medical remote monitoring devices that help patients and their doctors track vital signs. While these high tech data trackers provide important information, they don’t necessarily inspire behavior change in the people wearing them. We mused on what inspires and supports people to make different decisions about their health.
- AI is here to stay and we chatted a bit about how we’re using it (or not), where we think it helps and hurts, and what is emerging in the workplace ethos as AI looms large. 🤖
- We all have blind spots – is it possible to know what they are, or once we identify them are they no longer blind spots?
- Wayne shared a story about conflicting political beliefs with a family member. Empathy, or lack there of, came up and got us wondering if empathy is something you can measure in someone else, and if so how?
- Some books we’re reading or listening to: “On Tyranny” by Timothy Snyder, “Think Again” by Adam Grant, “Beyond Anxiety” by Martha Beck, “Nexus” by Yuval Noah Harari, and a bunch of books about dragons. 🐲
- We all have JOMO (joy of missing out) for the hype and capitalistic search to secure dominance. 🤣
