Our August topic is EXPLORE. It’s all about learning what makes a better idea and how to get better at it. And how to facilitate more ideas with our colleagues. We had a small group with big ideas for our curiosity brainstorm.

Here’s some tasty tidbits from our conversation…

    • Ideas are different than solutions. It takes many ideas and iterations of those ideas to form a functional solution. We limit ourselves when we equate the two.
    • Great ideas don’t happen in a vacuum. Making space for creativity and diverse input is key. The story of the bear and the honey pots is a fantastic real-life example.
    • Speaking of creativity… it’s quite common to hear people say, “I’m not creative”, but creativity is a practice and a skill that can be learned. Check out the resources PBS News has compiled.
    • Ever heard of Rube Goldberg? Ever built a Rube Goldberg machine? It’s a fun and interactive way to engage people’s minds in thinking differently – and thinking differently leads to WAY MORE ideas.
