Deep Rest

Resisting toxic busyness means giving ourselves permission for deep rest. So many of us spend our supposed “downtime” doing an awful lot of things. I’m trying to take a cue from my cat and really relish doing absolutely nothing.

It can be tricky – our brains are conditioned to be in hyperdrive all the time. Slowing down can, at first, feel like more work than not.

Meditation helps me. What strategies do you find useful to get to deep rest?

Also – doesn’t Zuul look adorable in his post surgery onesie?! 😻

Few of us realize that our motivation and sense of contribution and accomplishment drives productive activity…until we need a break. If we don’t take that break for a quality reset, we go through the motions but accomplish less and less.

Busyness in this sense is an overworked, zombie state.
