Week 2: Visualizing Strategy

One other thing on my mind following the session. The distinction between “visualization” as an artifact and “visualizing” as an activity and experience. Seems to me it’s often the process of making a visualization that is transformative for the people involved. Thinking of the Root Learning maps, RSA Animates, sketch notes, and at-the-whiteboard collaborative moments. Relates to “embodied cognition” — we think by doing. And to the importance of ownership: we support what we help to create.

Yes @tom-mulherngmail-com ! It’s funny – this concept of noun/verb keeps popping up in the my world and this is another example of it. The action/verb of visualizing is where the deepest impact is. It’s really started to transform my thinking from a focus on visual products I might produce to visual strategies I can employ to deepen my own understanding/work/exploration.

    🤯

We are way more about verbs than nouns!
