AI-fueled visualization

Nice! When you mentioned this yesterday, I felt using AI to create specific illustrations for non-designers is an amazing potential application. I definitely want to experiment with this and help others use it to their advantage at work.

Just speculating, but it seems it will make clearer the need to be thoughtful and specific about the idea one is trying to communicate, rather than just assuming a “designer will make it look pretty.”

After having looked through the concepts, I can say that I think I have seen most of them from the packaging work in my career — including a project for McDonald’s!

While this capability clearly makes “concept visualization” easy (and its amazing!), the realization of those concepts will face the same challenges as traditional designer concepts.

I would feed those concepts back into the AI to assess feasibility within the current system, what investments would need to be made and how McDonald’s could justify the expense, changeover, etc.

Also, I’d ask the AI to look at the unintended consequences of the concepts so that we are not naive about the risks of doing anything at the scale of McDonalds and the industrial food system…

    Thanks for posting it, Tom!
